Fusing universes.

Self initiated project.
When you make collage pictures, where multiple photos from different sources have to melt together seamlessly - making the border between the different photos seem invisible can be a big challenge. Not that is difficult to merge the pictures technically. But the eye is extremely good at seeing the odd things that happen when two very different pictures meet each other’s edges.

I wanted to merge three pictures into a single piece. Or to put another way, I wanted it to look like a single piece without any transitions. In order to do this, I used colored shapes to create a graphic piece that was supposed to trick the eye into thinking the whole background picture is one entity without any obvious cuts or meeting points. In reality there are some extremely obvious cuts in plain sight. But because of the placement of the shapes, most people won't even notice. Imagination fills in the blanks, where there is actually just a rough cut. See for yourself. They are quite obvious when you’re aware of them.

The piece was featured in the third edition of 'SHOWGUN' - a paper distributed at the Danish School of Design.
