'Moons'

Digital painting made in Photoshop.
Created as part of a bigger project, in order to gain admittance to The Royal Danish School of Design.

One thing I needed to showcase was skills in the area of painting digital worlds and landscapes. In order to create something memorable i opted for something of a majestic magnitude. And the space setting, the ancient temple and the mountains provided just that.

For the record - the painting is heavily inspired by a very similar artwork found online. Though not exactly the same, they are very much alike in many aspects. The painting should therefore not be viewed as a direct product of my creative art skills, but merely a way to showcase my skills in digital painting.
Technically the painting consists over 150 different layers, not counting effects and editing done to each individual layer.

The final was printed and showcased on thick A2 matte drawing paper.

Thunderpoodle

Based upon something as unlikely as the picture on a box of matchsticks, i made this simple picture.

How this came about was:
One day, a friend of mine made a blindfolded drawing of 'Tordenskjold', a 16th century war hero, as depicted on every box of matchsticks. The blindfolded drawing ended up being quite funny as it slightly resembled the original picture. Seeing the drawing i thought i would be funny coloring it in photoshop. And given that 'Tordenskjolds' hair, the typical Court of law type of hair, resembled a poodle - i made him a colorful poodle. And as 'Torden' means thunder, i called it 'Thunderpoodle'.

'Flamingo beach'

Assignment:
Use shapes, textures and illustration to make a piece that can work as a poster or decoration.

Using simple shapes and colors in the background, i tried to bring forth a feeling of being on a beach, even if you can't actually see a beach.
Muddy and broken textures exaggerated the feeling of sand and stone, and a paper texture gave life to the blue sky. A flamingo in bright pink became the center figure, underlining the southern warmth and pleasure i opted to create with the picture.
